Ropp Pipes (St Claude) Ropp was originally founded in the 1870's and remained a family business for three generations. Since then it has changed hands more than once, but, as is evident in the quality of workmanship, Ropp has maintained plenty of classic French charm whilst still providing high quality yet affordable pipes.
Ropp Horn Pipes This is not something you come across every day. Not only do these Ropp pipes come with a genuine horn stem, but they also in the sub £100 price point. Each pipe has been expertly produced from the finest aged briar, given a Ruby stain before being sandblasted to perfection then finished with a genuine horn mouthpiece which offset the briar beautifully. When we saw these at a recent trip to St Claude we knew instantly that we had to have them on our shelves. They come in a vast array of sizes and finishes to suit even the pickiest of pipe smokers.
Billiard The Billiard is easily the most recognisable of pipe shapes. The Billiard has a straight stem and straight bowl set at a 90 degree angle. The shank is often the same length as the bowl height. Bent pipes are classed by the sharpness of the bend, Quarter Bent, Half Bent etc. The bend in the stem makes the pipe more comfortable to hang and smoke hands free Almost every pipe maker has their own Billiard and many other pipe shapes have their roots with this shape.
HORN STEMS: The mouthpiece in this picture is a one off and is unlikely to be the exact mouthpiece you will receive. Due to the natural materials used there is variation from pipe to pipe with substantial differences in colours, patterns and marbling.
