Lighters are essential tools for smokers, offering convenience and reliability for lighting cigarettes, cigars, or pipes. We stock a wide range of lighters, from refillable options to disposable models, including classic designs, windproof varieties, and luxury torch lighters for precision lighting. Whether you're looking for style or functionality, our lighters ensure a seamless smoking experience.
To keep your lighters running properly, follow these tips:
Refill Regularly: For refillable lighters, ensure you're using the correct fuel (butane or lighter fluid) and refill before it completely runs out to prevent air from entering the fuel chamber.
Replace the Flint: If your lighter uses a flint, change it when you notice difficulty in sparking. Keep spare flints handy.
Clean the Burner: Over time, dust and debris can clog the burner. Use a small brush or compressed air to gently clean the area.
Adjust the Flame: Many lighters allow you to adjust the flame size. Set it to a suitable height to prevent fuel waste and overheating.
Store Properly: Keep your lighter in a dry, cool place to prevent damage or fuel evaporation. Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures.
By maintaining your lighter, you can ensure it works reliably and lasts for a long time.
Don't use cheap fuel: Cheap fuel contains impurities that can clog valves and cause air locks with gas lighters. Budget fuels can also taint the flavour of your Cigarette, Cigar or Pipe.
Clear air locks in Gas lighters:
If your gas lighter is miss behaving then clear out all the gas in your lighter and refil with premium gas. You may have to repeat this process but it is worth it.
What is the best gas/petrol for lighters: There is no better lighter petrol than Zippo (end of)
It's a bit less of a closed door for lighter gas as there are MANY inferior brands and a few quality ones. And just because it says less impurities doesn't mean it's good.
From our experience the following brands are excellent and well worth the investment: Zippo, Colibri, Dunhill, Dupont, Xikar. They can be expensive to buy online due to the carriage costs for hazardous goods and aren't available at supermarkets or high street chain shops. We strongly recommend seeking out a proper bricks and mortar tobacconist in your local city or when you go on your travels as they'll stock some good gas and they are always enjoyable and unique shops to visit.
