Throughout 2018’s production Petersons craftsmen have been picking out special blocks of Briar for the 2019 pipe of the year. At the end of 2018 the reserved briar was weaned down to the best 1000 blocks for production of the Peterson pipe of the Year.
Peterson Pipe of the Year 2019 Here it is, at last — the 23rd annual Peterson Pipe of the Year 2019! Formerly known as the “Limited Edition,” and extending back to 1997. First appearing in Petersons catalogues in 1937, the 999 Rhodesian, later dubbed the John Bull was eventually retired in the mid 80's and replaced with another more slender Rhodesian shape, the 998. The 998 assumed the John Bull 999 stamp but retained the former's lighter, more slender dimensions. The original 999 it seems, had gone forever. Then, in 2018 Peterson made an important discovery, within the dusty recesses of the archives, in a box full of aged templates they found an unfinished bowl from a classic John Bull. To honour the shapes history they used this template as the model for the 2019 Pipe of the Year. Resurrecting this classic shape for a new generation to enjoy.
P.Lip mouthpiece: The P.lip is a unique mouthpiece designed to greatly enhance the smokers experience. The lip is shaped to fit the mouth more comfortably with the tongue pressed under the lip. The smoke exits on the top of the lip, which significantly reduces tongue bite from even the most bitter smoking tobacco’s.
