Chacom Pipes (St Claude) Chacom is a family owned company who can trace their pipe making heritage to 1825 before Briar was even discovered. They are based in St Claude which is widely recognised as the pipe making capital of the world. They are one of very few pipe manufacturers who make pipes from start to finish. From ageing the Briar right through to hand finishing.
Chacom Grise 9mm Pipes The Chacom Maya (also known as Grise) is a very striking pipe developed using modern techniques developed in St Claude. The most noticeable development in pipe making in recent years is the use of layered Acrylic to produce characterful stems. Chacom hit the design nail on the head with the Maya with bands of marbled orange and Black which is mirrored in the smokey grey stain on the bowl and amber finish on the rim with an inlaid Brass Chacom logo. The results are simply stunning whilst remaining sophisticated, making these pipes a sure fire talking point at any party or club meeting.
Filter Choice The Chacom Grise pipes can be smoked with a condensing filter (included) or a 9mm absorbent filter. The larger diameter of a 9mm filter allows more smoke to pass through the filter, with less restriction, which makes for a better draw compared to the 6mm filters. The highly absorbent filters have a very high surface area resulting in excellent absorption of the tar as the smoke passes through without affecting draw or flavour. The pipes have a standard 9mm bore so can be used with any brand of 9mm filter if preferred. Alternatively the filter can be removed altogether for smokers who prefer a totally un-restricted full on smoke.
MARBLED STEMS: The marbled mouthpiece in this picture is a one off and is unlikely to be the exact mouthpiece you will receive. There is variation from pipe to pipe with substantial differences in colours, patterns and marbling.
