Brebbia Brebbia was initially the result of a partnership between Brebbia founder Enea Buzzi and Achille Savinelli of Savinelli pipes, the pair began manufacturing pipes in 1947 in Italy and now produce nearly 35 thousand air cured briar pipes annually. Brebbia continue an almost 70 year tradition of pipe making, following the same 50 step process, They use the same antique machine lathes for the early stages of pipe production while finishing every piece by hand. The designs are modern takes on Italian classics, and are often smooth, sandblasted in a tumbler or wire wheel rusticated. Some of the stems are hand cut from cumberland rod, but the majority are preform vulcanite or acrylic bits, and all tenons are a Brebbia designed inserted tenon which often fit a sleeved mortise.
1960 Series One of Brebbias classic designs, the 1123 is a neat little straight Dublin presented in a high gloss jet smooth Walnut stain, with a black acrylic stem accented with a silver plated band and cap. This classic style is a perfect size for a hands free jacket pocket pipe.
