Brebbia Brebbia was initially the result of a partnership between Brebbia founder Enea Buzzi and Achille Savinelli of Savinelli pipes, the pair began manufacturing pipes in 1947 in Italy and now produce nearly 35 thousand air cured briar pipes annually. Brebbia continue an almost 70 year tradition of pipe making, following the same 50 step process, They use the same antique machine lathes for the early stages of pipe production while finishing every piece by hand. The designs are modern takes on Italian classics, and are often smooth, sandblasted in a tumbler or wire wheel rusticated. Some of the stems are hand cut from cumberland rod, but the majority are preform vulcanite or acrylic bits, and all tenons are a Brebbia designed inserted tenon which often fit a sleeved mortise.
Rociatta Hornet Featuring a rather unique design, the Brebbia Rociatta Hornet showcases a sandblasted bent hornet shape made of aged briar with a removable acrylic saddle stem. The weathered and textured sandblast finish gives a good tactile feel and is contrasted with a smooth finish on the rim of the bowl and the shape sits perfect in the hand.
