Chacom Pipes (St Claude) Chacom is a family owned company who can trace their pipe making heritage to 1825 before Briar was even discovered. They are based in St Claude which is widely recognised as the pipe making capital of the world. They are one of very few pipe manufacturers who make pipes from start to finish. From ageing the Briar right through to hand finishing.
Chacom Pipe of the year 2018 S1000 Throughout 2017 Chacom have worked tirelessly to create 2018’s masterpiece and wow the work has paid off as the 2018 is our favourite Pipe Of The Year to date! A canted egg shaped bowl combined with expert craftsmanship makes for a very comfortable and perfectly balanced pipe which looks simply stunning. Only the finest Plateaux Briar is carefully sourced and hand selected specifically for the Pipe Of The Year and it really shows in the stunning flame grain patterns throughout the range. The pipe is a sandblasted black bowl with a deluxe ebonite Cumberland stem. The S1000 is finished in a rich dark brown stain which enhances every ounce of character in the intricate grain pattern of the Plateaux Briar.
Filter Choice The Chacom Pipe Of The Year 2018 pipes can be smoked with a condensing filter (included) or a 9mm absorbent filter. The larger diameter of a 9mm filter allows more smoke to pass through the filter, with less restriction, which makes for a better draw compared to the 6mm filters. The highly absorbent filters have a very high surface area resulting in excellent absorption of the tar as the smoke passes through without affecting draw or flavour. The pipes have a standard 9mm bore so can be used with any brand of 9mm filter if preferred. Alternatively the filter can be removed altogether for smokers who prefer a totally un-restricted full on smoke.
Limited series Reserved for the best smoking specialists of the world, all these pipes are numbered from 1 to 1245
